Fresh off a Super Bowl win, the New York Giants have decided to part ways with its Pro-Bowl running back Brandon Jacobs.

EXCLUSIVE: Eli Manning Is Not A Hall Of Famer – YET!

The two sides couldn’t reach an agreement on a new contract, and so he’s on the way out.

The Star-Ledger reports that the Giants will release Jacobs today after the two parties couldn’t work out a new deal.

At season’s end, Jacobs was due to receive a $500,000 roster bonus and a base salary of $4.4 million, and although he said he was open to taking a pay cut, apparently that didn’t work either.

Jacobs, who will turn 30 in July, has played his entire seven-year career with the Giants. He had 152 carries for 571 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
