How many rappers out there can say the President has given them a shout out?

Not many, but you can add gangsta rapper Young Jeezy to that list.

Hip-Pop Says “Hello Mr. President” At White House Correspondents’ Dinner

On Saturday night, President Barack Obama held his annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington.

There were jokes galore to go around, but one of the highlights of the show, at least for hip-hop heads out there, occurred when Obama jokingly shouted out Young Jeezy:

“In my first term I sang Al Green. In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy. Michelle said, ‘Yeah,’ I sing that to her sometimes.”

It was a pretty cool and hip shout out from our Commander In Chief.

One that wasn’t missed by Young Jeezy himself, who tweeted this out Saturday and Sunday:

Obama shouting out Jeezy had to be cool moment for the rapper, considering that back in 2008, the Atlanta rapper released a song dedicated to Barack called “My President.”
