Despite what some pundits and some polls say, young voters overwhelmingly support President Obama and his message of change. Young Americans know that the stakes are simply too high right now. And like most Americans, we’re sick of cable TV back and forth where every day is treated like Election Day, and we’re sick of the cynicism that has come to dominate our politics.

For young people, the political process always has been and continues to be about people.

Young people all across America are too often barely able to pay off their student loans and credit card debt and are suffering from the effects of the financial crisis.

Young people all across America know that educating people about green jobs and energy is the lifeline for sustaining our planet.

Young people all across America are the largest group of uninsured but are suffering from lack of health insurance reform.

Thankfully, President Obama and our Democratic representatives in Congress are working tirelessly to solve these problems.

That’s why Democrats have passed credit card reform that has unprecedented safeguards for young people and all consumers.

That’s why the President signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which put millions of American back to work and made unprecedented investments in our education system and a new green energy economy.

And that’s why Democrats everywhere are fighting to pass comprehensive health insurance reform that will expand accessibility and reduce costs for all Americans. No longer will Americans have to worry about getting kicked of their health care plan just because they get sick.

But, if the pundits and pollsters want stats, we have those too.

President Obama’s job approval rating among young Americans averages at 66%.  And this is much higher than other recent presidents, who enjoyed much smaller levels of support.

What does this signify? Well, mainly the pundits are wrong. Young voters strongly support President Obama and his legislative agenda to help improve the lives of middle class Americans.

Some say the President is taking on too much too soon. This simply isn’t true.  President Obama knows that we need to face our challenges head-on because if we don’t do it, who will? Young Americans are proud of President Obama for taking on these challenges and stand behind him in his fight to move our country forward.
