50 Cent comes out to join the many celebrities who support Frank Ocean’s choice to share his sexuality with the world.

DETAILS: Slaugherhouse & Ne-Yo Weigh In On Frank Ocean’s Sexuality

MTV sat down with 50 to talk to him about Frank Ocean’s declaration and his music. When asked about Frank’s sexuality, 50 said:

“Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot, I think. I think Frank Ocean is a talented artist who has created material that’s made me know his name, that impressed me, with things he said on a song like ‘Novacane.’

50 goes on to compare Frank Ocean with another beloved R&B singer, Luther Vandross, who unfortunately died in the closet, but many people in the industry knew he was gay.

“To say you don’t like Frank Ocean is to say you don’t like Luther Vandross. Or maybe you don’t like Kenny Green. There have been artist before him that have made these choice, just not the choice to expose it to the general public before an actual release. It could be revolutionary or it could be a tragedy.”

50 also touches on the reality that Frank Ocean’s declaration is a great marketing strategy and may be a double-edged sword.

We’re glad 50 is one of the first mainstream rappers, along with Slaughterhouse, to actually support Frank on-camera.
