All week we’ve heard Democratic heavyweights, leaders, pundits and politicians make a case of why President Barack Obama deserves a second term in office. They refuted Republican claims that Americans were better off than four years ago by pointing out that more people are have access to healthcare, Osama bin Laden is dead and the automobile industry is still in tact.  They spoke about his leadership, persistence, character and values.  But on Thursday night, the BIG night, the POTUS made a personal appeal to the American people about voting in the 2012 which will decide the future of the country.

“I am the President,” Obama boasted pointing out that the Republicans are clueless about how to run the country. Framing the Republican contender Mitt Romney out to be naive and inexperienced about foreign policy he said:

You don’t call Russia our number one enemy – and not al Qaida – unless you’re still stuck in a Cold War time warp. You might not be ready for diplomacy with Beijing if you can’t visit the Olympics without insulting our closest ally.

In a strong and sophisticated style speech, Obama told supporters that they empowered him the changes that we see in our country.

You’re the reason a young man in Colorado who never thought he’d be able to afford his dream of earning a medical degree is about to get that chance. You made that possible.

You’re the reason a young immigrant who grew up here and went to school here and pledged allegiance to our flag will no longer be deported from the only country she’s ever called home; why selfless soldiers won’t be kicked out of the military because of who they are or who they love; why thousands of families have finally been able to say to the loved ones who served us so bravely: “Welcome home.”

Obama placed a lot of emphasis on the American people to vote.

If you believe in a country where everyone gets a fair shot, and everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules, then I need you to vote this November.
