Sneakers may not be an obsession for everyone, but we all need shoes! Whether you buy one pair to last you for the year or you are an avid collector, all of our kicks come from somewhere and many of you may have wondered what exactly goes into making them. For the upcoming New Balance release with UK based boutique size? and Jeff Staple’s Staple Design, the Massachusetts-based sneaker brand gave us a chance to see exactly what went into making this limited edition shoe for the first time.

This version of the New Balance 577 is a take on the now famous Jeff Staple “Pigeon” colorway, normally made up of different shades of grey and infrared to mimic the colors of the actual bird.  Of course the color must vary a bit for the “Black Pigeon,” but the same craftsman ship went into this pair as any other pair of New Balances. Maybe even more because this pair was made at the UK New Balance factory that is home to New Balance’s renowned “Made in England” range. It employs over 200 workers who manage to make between 6,500 and 7,000 shoes each week – all by hand.
