Leggo!…no it’s not a new Chris Brown song even though he definitely patented the phrase. Well move over Breezy. Ever heard of B. Smyth? He’s Universal Motown’s latest signee and Leggo is his debut single. It’s definitely going to help that he has my guy Dos Cadenas featured on it. That’s 2 Chainz; shout out to my Spanish speaking readers. This kid D Smyth can really sing. His style kind of reminds you of Mario way back when he first crept on the R&B scene almost a decade ago. Ethiopia H, the president at Motown, seems to have 2013 on target as the ‘rebirth’ of one of music’s most legendary labels. B. Smyth is the first up…

The ink ain’t even dry on Kid Ink’s new deal over at RCA and he’s already back to the studio with more heat for the street. Peep this new heater Poppin Shit which features King Los. Sony is really gearing up to make 2013 one of the most anticipated year in music for some time. You new have Sylvia Rhone, LA Reid, Salaam Remi and Tricky Stewart under the same roof. Kid Ink is a solid, strong artist whose fan base has followed him relentlessy from coast to coast. He will add fuel to the new revamped Sony engine. Poppin Shit has the potential to be something special. Stay Tuned.

Let’s keep it in the Sony family. Next up this week is my man King Louie with his latest single Flexin. Chi-Town most polished MC has taken a somewhat backseat to the whole Chief Keef/ GBE Movement as of late. But this latest song looks to turn heads back right… Louie’s new Drilluminati Mixtape is set drop early 2013 and his highly anticipated album is on its way as well. Meanwhile look for the King of Chi City to keep lacing the streets with more leaks like Flexin.

Like him a little or Hate him a whole damn lot, Lil Reese has planted his GBE flag in this rugged hip hop terrain and is going to say what he has to say. Need proof? Peep this new Reese/ Juelz Santana joint Bodies. At first glance, it’s like Harlem teamed up with The Chi. But its deeper then that maybe even deeper then rap. Let’s just leave it like that.  I like this Juelz collabo with Reese but can we get Keef, Durk, Killa Cam and JR Writer in the mix or better yet the remix?

I’ve always said All Hail to the Female MC. So it’s definitely worth checking out the fresh new track from Lanz Pierce My Diploma. It features even fresher production from the wizard of boards Diplo and Boys Noize. Pierce’s wordplay isn’t anything special but her punch lines are pretty amusing and fun. It’s that modern day hipster hip hop rap shit that isn’t quite as fresh as Azealia Banks but noticeable enough to get your attention. Lanz’s EP Point of No Return drops soon and we shall see…Until We Read Again
