The beautiful fashion beast, also known as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City, has come to a glamorous close after 8 days of pure style goodies.

Now, the wait is finally over. While we aren’t sure yet if spring will bring showers or sunshine, one thing we now know is exactly what trends we will be wearing once summer has seen its final days and the leaves begin to change.

GlobalGrind was on the scene in Lincoln Center and beyond, checking out the good, the bad, and the ugly of New York Fashion Week, and there were just a couple of trends that kept popping up time and time again. Our hints to you: hold on to the leather goodies, get ready to wear color in the fall and never, ever leave the house without your beanie, because they are having a serious comeback. The nineties are back in y’all! Check out some looks from the runway that represent the trends you’ll be rocking this fall.

Check out the trends to watch below.

Mixed media as seen at Rebecca Minkoff.

We’re blocking texture, color and fabric this year. Color blocking on its own is SO 2012.

Metallics as seen at Richard Chai

Don’t ditch those metallics just yet. The runway looks are putting metallics into play with timeless classics for a punch of fun.

Purples as seen at Vera Wang.

When was the last time you wore purple? Really think about it. Well the plum punch is back for the fall and we aren’t mad at a little color trying to get its shine when it is all about oranges and reds. Pantone’s color of the year may have been emerald, but purple is packing a punch.

’90s style grunge as seen at BCBG

We did the whole ’80s thing for quite some time, now fashion is coming right back around to the ’90s and introducing some hip-hop meets grunge inspired looks complete with beanies and bare tummies. We ain’t mad at it.

Military re-vamped as seen at Richard Chai.

You really, really cannot go wrong with a military anything. Coat, camo, suit. Military looks got a little facelift this season with tailored looks paired with rich texture. Sir yes sir, we will take this on!

What are some of the trends you’re excited about for fall?
