Let the animal rights groups talk their talk. Philadelphia Eagles star Michael Vick is now enrolled in dog training classes and just got himself a Belgian Malinois as a pet. That wouldn’t raise eyebrows had Vick not spent time in federal prison for dog fighting, and now the American Belgian Malinois Club and Rescue is saying that the breed of dog Vick chose is a bit problematic. The breed is highly trainable and they could easily become dangerous if they land in the wrong hands and are frequently used by military and police. Guess he should have gotten a poodle. [TMZ]

Conspiracy or truth? Hours before the death of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, Vice President Nicolás Maduro ejected two U.S. diplomats from the country, accusing them of plotting to “destabilize” Venezuela and implying that the U.S. had infected Chávez with cancer. “We have no doubt,” Maduro said in a television address, that a scientific commission would find “that commander Chávez was attacked with this illness.” [Gawker]

It’s official. Drone strikes on U.S. are definitely possible. Attorney General Eric Holder said that the Obama administration believes it could use military force to kill an American on U.S. soil under “extraordinary circumstances,” but that they have no intention of doing so. What type of situations call for drones? According to Holder, 9-11 or even Pearl Harbor are great examples. [HuffPost]

Looks like our voting rights are still on the chopping block. Senate Republicans are questioning if the Voting Rights Act is constitutional and are ready to toss out Section 5, which prevents states with a history of racial discrimination from altering their voting laws without federal approval. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said that the court may need to reject the key element of the Voting Rights Act because political pressures would prevent Congress itself from doing so.
