Welcome to the weekend! You can officially do a little dance in your seat. Now that you have gotten that out of your system, we have got some great things for you to do this weekend.  If you happen to be in Copenhagen, Denmark or just plan on visiting soon, this installment of Dollars & Sense is just for you. Check it out below.

Visit The Black Diamond Library Wing

The Black Diamond is the name given to the modern wing of the Royal Library, inaugurated by Queen Margrethe in 1999. The nickname originates from the building’s façade, crafted from polished black granite from Zimbabwe. Contrasting with the historic main wing of the library, which houses documents and books dating back to the 17th century, the Black Diamond is a decidedly modern venture. It houses a concert hall, as well as the National Museum of Photography and the International Authors’ Stage, which hosts such renowned writers as Salman Rushdie and Philip Pullman. Dining is available at Søren K on the ground floor.

Visit The Amager Strand

Copenhagen’s city beach park is busy all year with everything from people-watchers to kite surfers to kayakers. The paved promenade, which extends along the beach, draws bikers, walkers, and inline skaters and offers a low wall for sititng and taking in views of the swirling giant windmills in the distance. In the northern part of the park, the landscape has been left natural with dunes and trails for hiking. In 2005, the city built an island in the lagoon between the beach and the city, creating spots with low water levels that are safe for kids.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Open A Special Account

If you find that you keep reaching into your savings, set up a CD or other account with early withdrawal penalties. Banks and other institutions pay more interest if you’ll agree to let them use your money for a longer amount of time. Putting your savings into a yearly CD will yield more than a three-month note would.
