Just days after a small aircraft crashed near a Florida airport, another plane, this time a corporate jet, crashed into a South Bend, Indiana neighborhood, killing two of the four people aboard on impact. The plan damaged three single story homes. [CNN]
The National Rifle Association is at it again, this time fighting efforts that would strip firearms from domestic abusers. The NRA and other gun-rights groups are now beating back legislation mandating the surrender of firearms in domestic violence situations. In India, five villagers have confessed to the gang rape of a Swiss tourist in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. A sixth suspect, aged 19, has been detained in neighboring Uttar Pradesh and would be returned to the area. The 39-year-old woman was attacked by an armed group of men, who beat her and gang-raped her in front of her husband, who was handcuffed and assaulted. [SMH]
