None of us want to see the hunky Ryan Gosling go, but it looks like fans won’t be getting their Gosling fix for awhile after this spring.

During an interview with The Associated Press, the heavily sought after actor revealed that he would like to slow down, gain some perspective on his career, and decipher his acting decisions.

Sadly, he told the publication:

“I’ve been doing it too much. I’ve lost perspective on what I’m doing. I think it’s good for me to take a break and reassess why I’m doing it and how I’m doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does.”

Even though a “break” seems like it might be the beginning of Ryan deciding to completely leave the spotlight alone, we can kind of understand where he’s coming from.

Ryan explains that there is an extreme amount of pressure in what he does and he doesn’t want to mess up the freedom he fought so hard for:

“There’s a lot of pressure to be the lead of a film… I have done it. It’s not my favorite way to work.

The more opportunities I’m given, the more I learn about how easy it is to (expletive) it up. You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It’s like trying to exercise some restraint because I do have so much freedom.”

Well, there you have it folks. We still have his two spring films: The Place Beyond The Pines and Only God Forgives to look forward to though!
