She was there to cheer her boyfriend on at the Boston Marathon. But she never got the chance to say congratulations or goodbye.

When two bombs detonated near the finish line at the marathon, 29-year-old Krystle M. Campbell’s life was tragically cut short. She is now being identified as the second fatality from yesterday’s blasts.

Her father, William A. Campbell Jr., told Yahoo News he’s in shock that his daughter was killed.

“My daughter was the most lovable girl. She helped everybody and I’m just so shocked right now. We’re just devastated,” he said. “She was a wonderful, wonderful girl. Always willing to lend a hand.”

In an unfortunate mix up, doctors initially confused his daughter’s identity with a friend who survived.

“We had the doctors come out and tell us everything they did (on the survivor) — and it wasn’t our daughter,” said Campbell, 56.

The other identified victim, 8-year-old Martin Richard, was running away from the first explosion with his family when the second blast killed him.
