Hundreds of mourners started gathering at St. Joseph’s church before 8:00 a.m. to pay their respects to the 29-year-old restaurant manager.

In addition, some 200 members of Teamsters Local 25 stood in front of the church, promising to block protestors from the Westboro Baptist Church if they followed through on a threat to picket the services.

Local 25 represents 11,000 hardworking men and women from the Boston area. President of the Teamsters, Sean O’Brien, told the Boston Globe on Monday morning that he expected about 350 people to show up to form the human shield.

“It’s the right thing to do,” he said. “The family deserves a peaceful grieving process that’s free from any coward-led group.”

As for Krystle, the volunteers are giving her family and friends a chance to mourn their great loss in peace.

“My daughter was the most lovable girl. She helped everybody and I’m just so shocked right now. We’re just devastated,” he said. “She was a wonderful, wonderful girl. Always willing to lend a hand,” said Krystle’s father, William.

Our thoughts are with the Campbell family.
