On the road to becoming a champion, Mike Tyson was the best heavyweight in the history of boxing. The hardest hitting; the fastest, the most explosive, and aggressive. I think the events in his life and career subsequent to the Douglas loss have allowed somewhat of a rewritten history with respect to how unique Tyson was. There is no argument that Mike was not a good champion. All of the pitfalls that can bring down any successful person certainly got the best of Tyson. But on the way to the top? With all of the hunger and rage held together and focused by the care and structure of D’Amato and his camp? Tyson’s unbelievable bob-and-weave attack? Simply the best that I have ever seen. And on top of all of that, how about the EPIC rise and fall story of the life of Mike Tyson. A real champion’s tale.
