Avatar Star Sets Record Straight On Race Claims

<p>Although Avatar&rsquo;s predicted winning streak has somewhat squelched the fiery debate on whether or not the blockbuster incorporated racist themes in its fairytale narrative, a few eye brows are still raised. There are tons of arguments on what exactly is so racist about the film including the &ldquo;White savior&rdquo; theory, remarking that the main character (Jake Sully) is used to highlight the idea that &ldquo;White&rdquo; always saves the day.</p><p>HipHollywood exclusively sat down with actor CCH Pounder who plays Mo’at, the mother of Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) as well as the spiritual leader of the Omaticaya clan. She explains the irony behind the notion that the film displays an obvious prejudice.
