Hello Global Grind!!!

It’s Suzie from VH1’s Basketball Wives.  I’m super excited about becoming part of the Global Grind family!  Not only am I a huge fan and follower of Global Grind online and on Twitter, but I also respect and admire everything that Russell Simmons stands for; from his philanthropic philosophies to his global awareness and environmental concerns.  I rarely read blogs because most are saturated with so much negativity and lack of substance that it becomes an utter waste of time.  Global Grind is different, and it has always been a favorite of mine.

Basketball Wives has become VH1’s number one rated show in just a matter of weeks.  But with that exposure comes both good and bad. Yes, it’s a show for entertainment sake, but there’s so much more to each of the women you see on the show.

Depth of character is hard to portray in a 30 minute show and we’re all guilty of establishing negative first impressions based on what is seen.  There are so many preconceived notions about the women on the show and I’ve pretty much heard it all.  Before this show, I didn’t know how negative people could be and how some people seem to derive joy out of insulting and hurting others.  It’s really sad to me, but it has also helped me realize how important it is to embrace those that express their love and support.

Experiencing so much slander from people who don’t even have any idea of who I am has, ironically, made me a more positive and driven individual.  Strange, right, but even the cast members are guilty of this.  We all had preconceived notions about some of the others on the show.  It really has been a learning experience for me and my fellow cast members, to accept one another and remain open minded.  In the end, I’m grateful to say that we’ve all come to embrace each other for our imperfections and become a pretty close circle of friends.  If Basketball Wives has brought me nothing else, it has at least brought me closer to some really inspirational and incredible women.

Oh’, and just to clear the air about my drink throwing episode airing this Sunday, this girl really did cross the line and deserved to get drenched!  Don’t miss what happens in the next show, you’ll all probably agree with me.  Lastly, for all the haters, you can kick rocks.  Don’t let your anger and your hate, deter you from doing something more positive in your life.

Here are some pictures from a recent photo shoot that we did for the cover of a reality TV magazine.  It was a pretty long day, but Royce’s two year old baby, Braylon, kept us all on our toes.  Enjoy, and be sure to follow me on twitter @iluvsuzie and check out my own personal blog at www.suzie.tv.

Love and peace to you all!
