I was born, I began talking, and then I started mumbling along to Michael
Jackson’s music.
That’s how deeply this one man’s magic has affected me. How can someone
teach you how to imagine, dream, sing, dance, dress and perform without ever
meeting you?
I still can’t answer that, but somehow MJ did all of that for me.
He’s the brother/cousin/uncle/friend I been trying to be as cool as, my whole life.There are traces of him in ever song I have ever written. I’m not satisfied until a song makes me cry like ‘She’s Out of My Life’, or dance like ‘PYT’, or want to save the world like ‘Man in the Mirror’, or want to make love like ‘Break of Dawn’ or just give me Goosebumps like ‘Human Nature’.
Michael Jackson recording my song ‘Hold My Hand’ is the single greatest
accomplishment of my musical career. I’m not sure anything can top that, and I’m
not sure I want anyone to try.
