Confronting the elements of destruction while being lost in the existence of the pain is a process that is beyond basic understanding… There is no introduction that is alike, no ending that is the same, yet there is an offering to outsiders as well as those that have suffered which provides a sense of enlightenment… Questioning the Morals with Determination to understand the pain, Willpower is leading beyond the inked thoughts of a personal devotion… Erasing the pain is not an option so the only option is giving light to the hidden message by confronting the closeted thoughts of the African American community or rather the Black community as a whole… The dark tunnel that has been explored but hidden is “RAPE” & “MOLESTATION!”

Hidden in the closet, tucked away in prayer, a process that is deadly to emotions is the secret of not mentioning or taking action once the crime has been presented. It is often that children are lost due to their innocence being stolen, yet there is no courage to confront the issue… As a child, I remember hearing the stories, the stories lost in prayer that haunted the brokenhearted children of my family but we were given illustrations not truth with honesty… There is a difference between honesty & truth… Once upon a time is a beautiful way to start a story but it is not a beautiful way if your “honesty” is hidden within haunting walls or locked within a child that desired help with questioning the existence of pain… Ultimately, my goal as RRA is to heal with words, to relax the brokenhearted by allowing them to know that their voice has a reason for understanding & that I understand their mute pain. Often, the pain of being muted is caused by adults that do not know nor understand but live in denial, or adults that believe that prayer will remove the pain which is not true all of the time because victims lose Faith as they do the ability to trust….

So, I write to help to mend the pieces to display courage in the ink…

The surface of a child raped or molested is not often as noticeable as one may predict meaning there may not be signs but underneath the layers of protection there is pain that burns daily… There is a hidden darkness beyond the smile, the eyes, and the announced which presents the difference between reflection & image… There is no “gospel” for labeling a child nor adult that has lost her innocence but there is a point of direction which is understanding through the ability to confront the pain…

I was taught the lessons of life from a “single” Mother, “Missionary” Grandmother, “Deacon” Grandpa, Aunt Oracene, a Brother that was a man before understanding, Cousins that are like sister/brothers, but I endured the pain of watching silently as the pain caused a curse that separated the process of love…

But, we continued to love with a silent mask of gentleness!!! So, I learned to speak with my heart through ink, I inked my pain along with others pain but today on a Global Scale with Global Grind, I am allowed to offer a “piece of comfort” in order to speak for victims that were never or did not know how to speak, what to do, or that are still lost in the pain of being raped or molested as a child.
