It might seem like the first day of school for the newest members of the 112th Congress of the United States. From John Boehner starting his new position as the Speaker of the House to Republican Senator elect Rand Paul, a freshman Senator from Kentucky, this congressional season will definitely be one to watch.

So who should we be watching in the 112th congress? Some notable names include founder of the Tea Party Caucus, Michelle Bachmann and John Boehner’s right hand man from Virginia, Eric Cantor. With a heavy Republican majority, folks think President Obama will have a difficult time getting his agenda to relate across the aisle. Not likely, because for the first time in a long time the 112th Congress is made up of a younger generation, some in their 30s or 40s. So let’s take a peek at some folks who we think you should watch in the 2011 Congress.

The Tea Party Parties Hard With Rand Paul…

Rand Paul popped on the scene with some controversial statements he made about the Civil Rights movement of 1964. Since then, the tea party king was elected Senator of Kentucky and was one of the major figures backed by the Tea Party in the 2010 electoral race.

Pretty Boy Swag…Marco Rubio

Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, R-Fla., 39 Is the young, handsome, Hispanic senator from Florida. Rubio was one of the biggest stars of the Tea Party and now that he is serving the in the 112th Congress his stock is rising fast, so much so, they are saying he might be named vice president in 2012. Only time will tell.

The Hat Lady…Frederica Wilson

Not that much is known about Wilson, she won the State Representative seat for Florida’s 17th district. Wilson is known as an avid wearer of hats. She has a large collection of hundreds of hats of all different varieties. She wears one every day to honor her late grandmother. She has asked incoming House Speaker John Boehner to waive the rule prohibiting the wearing of hats on the floor of the House of Representatives, a rule in place since 1837. Hopefully there isn’t going to be any important hat legislation coming up.

Not That Quayle, But Ben Quayle…

Not falling far from the tree, the son of former Vice President Dan Quayle made some crazy statements when he was running for Arizona’s 3rd district for the House of Representatives. On August 11, 2010 Quayle released an advertisement, in which he called U.S. President Barack Obama the ‘worst president in history.’ Really?
