Last night, February 19, basketball fans turned to the Staple Center, not to watch the Lakers play but to watch the 2011 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.

All eyes were on Los Angeles Clippers rookie Blake Griffin, to bring in the show of the night and he did not disappoint! Griffin took the title of 2011 Dunk Champ after jumping over a car, windmill dunk and dunking and hanging from the rim by his elbow, to name a few of his shots.

Griffin was not the only that brought his A game to the Staple Center, Washington Wizards JaVale McGee lost to Griffin in the final round. McGee impressed the crowd with his not one but three ball dunk and fierce slam off the backboard, to name a few.

Other great dunks to mention from the night include Oklahoma City Thunder’s Serge Ibaka and Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan.
