(Kate Moss smokes a cigarette as she closes the Louis Vuitton show in Paris)

Louis Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs brought out the big guns for Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2011 presentation in Paris earlier today. Kate MossNaomi Campbell, Stella Tennant and Amber Valetta were all part of his power-pack. The 90s supermodels all walked in a spectacular show which was all about fetish, nostalgia and crazy things that go on in hotels: affairs, mysteries, crime, sex, death. Jacobs was inspired by the past, stationing a bank of old French elevators and employing French maids and bell hops to greet guests as they arrived at the show. “We were thinking about obsession, fetishism and we thought about an old hotel, with its chambermaids and the affairs that go on there, the crimes and scandals. And we just wanted to reveal all the amazing creatures who passed through there,” Jacobs said. “There’s this crazy, almost irrational desire for these objects, these things we create,” Jacobs told journalists in a frenzied backstage interview, explaining the ubiquity of the LV logo on his designs.
