Some trends are good and others, not so much. The latest trend that has the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shaking their heads is the surge of air traffic controllers across the country doing everything except watching the planes in the sky.

STORY: Air Traffic Controller & Other Jobs You Shouldn’t Fall Asleep On

In the latest FF oops moment, an air traffic controller out of Oberlin, Ohio, near Cleveland, was suspended for watching a movie while on duty. So how did the controller get caught? His mic was on, which prevented him from hearing incoming calls or from giving instructions to the pilot. What a shame. To add insult to injury, the controller was watching a Samuel L. Jackson movie, not “Snakes On A Plane,” (that would have been too perfect) but “The Cleaner.”

Too bad the controller was dirty at his job. The FAA has suspended eight controllers and supervisors since March, many of them for snoozing on the job. Worse than sleeping, watching a movie and being an air traffic controller is never a good thing. Here are some movies that air traffic controllers shouldn’t watch while watching planes.

“Snakes On A Plane”

It would have been poetic justice for an air traffic controller to be watching “Snakes On A Plane” at the same time as he was watching planes in the sky.

“Airplane”

More obvious than ever. Contollers should stay away form this movie, not only is it funny but…that’s all, it’s just funny.

“Soul Plane”

Contollers shouldn’t watch this movie for the simple fact that it’s really bad.

“Con Air”

This movie will make you not want to travel when convicts are on board.

“Top Gun”

Controllers enter the danger zone when they fall asleep at the wheel, so don’t make the mistake of watching “Top Gun.”

“Passenger 57”

“Always bet on black.” Watch this movie and you’ll always want to travel with Wesley Snipes.
