Last night was another exciting night of “Dancing With The Stars”! The theme for the show was “A Salute to America” and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities and promise that this country has provided for me.
So I was, once again, “Dancing with a purpose,” in fact, many purposes. But one of the main reasons I am still out there dancing is because of the love and support of the GlobalGrind family. Now, back to the main reason I’m dancing with a purpose: Happy Hearts Fund…
Last week I shared the story about building our first school in Thailand. It was an incredible experience that happened so fast because of the generosity of so many, and in particular, the Carlos Salvi Foundation. I was so excited to see the work take place and see the smiles on the faces of the children and hear their laughter. You cannot put a price tag on that. The last time I was in Thailand, those same children had lost hope, it was written all over their faces, but now they had a new school and a new purpose, and so did I.

I returned to New York again, excited to go back to the drawing board and tell everyone about the incredible work that we just did in Thailand. The vision was coming together and now I had an concrete (Literally) example to show everyone that it could be done. Everyone I spoke with had the same response: “So when are you building the next school?” It seemed that everyone realized the same thing: that natural disasters are happening all over the world and while we can’t stop them, we can do our part to help children rebuild their lives after the tragedy, by rebuilding their schools.I knew I had a lot of work to do and I needed to raise a lot of money to make this a reality. I also knew the people I wanted to work with to make this happen, so I started to put together my team, which started with just a friend and me. We were just like any other startup with a passion and a defined purpose, but one that needed structure. After a short while, we were able to add key team members at critical times and slowly, but surely, that structure took place.
I’ll pick up on that and talk about our global volunteer team as well as our incredibly hard working board of advisors next week……..
But now its time for me to once again dance with a purpose and continue to increase the exposure of the Happy Hearts Fund by shining a light on children affected by natural disasters. I would like to wish everyone a Happy Passover and Happy Easter and I look forward to sharing more of my story with you next week.
