You can’t pay tribute to Michael Jackson without recalling the men who questioned his motives, appearance, celebrity and behavior. What men, you ask? Not the King of Pop’s brothers! We’re talking about American comedians Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chapelle, Chris Tucker, Eddie Griffin and others who went IN on MJ before, during and after his fame.

In African American culture it’s called playing the dozens, a type of diss and response (off of the call and response tradition in church) usually occurring on stoops, school yards and on streets of African American communities around the country. Only difference is MJ wasn’t in the audience to respond to the put downs, most of which centered around his child molestation accusations and his skin lightening.
