We’re inundated by news stories every day and with a 24/7 news cycle, it’s nearly impossible to keep up. But thanks to GlobalGrind’s Think Tank, you’ll be quickly in the know, and then good to go.

From what’s going on in the Capitol to what’s happening oversees, we have it all.

Today we see that Sarah Palin wants to reload again, while Muammar Gaddafi wants to blow up Tripoli.

Inside the Capitol

Where: Alaska

Who: Sarah Palin

What Happened: During an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Wednesday night, Sarah Palin sent a strong message to Republicans on the issue of raising the nation’s deficit limit. She said, “We cannot default, but we cannot afford to retreat right now either.” The former Alaska governor continued, “Now is not time to retreat, it’s time to reload.”

Still with the gun talk, Palin? Haven’t you learned your lesson?

GlobalGrind’s Global Mind

Where: Libya

What Happened: Muammar Gaddafi may resort to surface-to-surface missiles in case rebels manage to take over the Libyan capital of Tripoli, the Russian President’s special envoy to Africa, Mikhail Margelov has said.

“In Tripoli, the Libyan prime minister told me, ‘If rebels seize the city, we’ll straddle it with rockets and blow up.’ I presume Gaddafi’s regime has this kind of suicidal plan in mind,” Margelov told Izvestia daily.
He also said that he doubts Muammar Gaddafi and his supporters are running out of weapons, as American intelligence claims.

Numbers Game

Number: 48

Where: New Jersey

What Happened: Stephen Rooney, 54, a Hammonton, New Jersey man, died after lightning struck so close to him that it sent a surge of electricity through his body. Rooney walked away from his wife, family and friends at a barbecue on the Sunday he was struck. He’d just said, after seeing lightning in the sky, “Don’t worry guys, lightning never strikes twice.”
That line is much more than a cliché in the Rooney family.

Stephen’s father also died after being struck by lightning 48 years ago while he was fishing in Fortescue, N.J. Stephen was just five years old.
