NBA superstar Kevin Durant shocked the world this month when photos from his trip to China revealed the first clear public shot of his body tattoos.

Why did it cause such a ruckus?

PHOTOS: Is Your Favorite NBA Player Defecting?

Because Kevin Durant has been praised by the sports media for his clean cut image his entire career and his apparent lack of tattoos was a part of that image.

There has been a ton of speculation about why he chose to get “business tattoos” as opposed to visible ones and nonsense about whether his undercover tats make him a self-conscious sellout or a smart, practical businsessman trying to appeal to the most people he plays in Oklahoma ― a state that just legalized tattoos in 2006! Kevin’s reaction: “So what?”

Regardless of where you stand on the (non)issue, everyone is curious to see just what his tats are since they often say a lot about the person they decorate.

We compiled pictures of all of Kevin’s visible tattoos, so check out our gallery of NBA superstar Kevin Durant’s tats!

Of course we have to start of with the tattoo for Kevin’s mother, Wanda. Love for one’s moms is mandatory.

The “Barbara” tattoo on Kevin’s right chest is for his grandmama. We think those are doves.

Kevin’s stomach tattoo reads “Walk by faith not by sight” from 2 Corinthians 5:7 of the Bible.

The Washington Nationals baseball team “W” logo symbolizes K-Smoove’s love for his hometown of Washington, D.C.

This tat, from Proverbs 15:33, reads: “The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.” Deep stuff.

Above is a tattoo of the house Kevin grew up in as a kid with a #35 basketball jersey dribbling out front. That kid has to be him, right?

The cross of course symbolizes Kevin’s faith and can be found on many athletes. Kevin probably really is a stand up dude with all the religious tats.
