In 2004, Congress failed to renew the ban on large capacity ammunition magazines. Since then, nearly every mass murderer in the U.S. has used large capacity ammunition magazines to inflict carnage, including the recent shooter in Tucson, AZ.
Restoring the ban would not only reduce the capacity, but more importantly reduce the lethality of firearms. Moreover, we need to protect our police officers, who shouldn’t have to confront so much firepower on the street: they deserve better.
