    Russell Simmons attended the Social Life Magazine August issue release party at The Social Life Estate on August 13, 2011 in Watermill, New York. 

    The event helped benefit the Somaly Mam foundation, a nonprofit charity committed to ending modern day slavery in North America and around the world.

    The nonprofit charity was co-founded by sexual slavery survivor Somaly Mam and diligently works to eradicate human trafficking, liberate its victims and empower survivors so they can create and sustain lives of dignity.

    Russell was the man of honor at the event, which highlighted the release of the latest issue of Social Life Magazine. Russell was prasied for his dedication to causes like human trafficking, the DEF Empowerment Fund and many more.
