Anne Hathaway stars in the new romantic comedy, One Day. The film is about two friends who spend the night together on the night of their college graduation, and end up making a deep connection that they both weren’t expecting.

We are taken through the lives of the two characters, Dexter played by Jim Sturgess and Em’s played by Anne Hathaway,
on the same day each year to see where they are.

Anne Hathaway Enjoys Kicking People In The Throat!

There are many romantic moments, drunk phone calls moments and sad moments. All of these moments come off as real and genuine and the chemistry between Anne and Jim is amazing. This movie is truly a tear-jerker and a must see for everyone.

We caught up with Anne Hathaway and she told us how to handle a drunk dialer, being naked over doing an accent and her the new film.

Check it out below.

GlobalGrind: Dexter does a lot of drunk dialing in this movie. How would you handle a drunk call?

Anne Hathaway: Oh, that’s so fun. I thought the questions was going to be, who do you drunk dial? How do you handle one … You just be nice. It depends on what time it is and how soon you have to wake up, you just be a good person and show them love and patience. And by the way, remember what they say because people are funny when they’re drunk, ammunition for later.

Last year you said you would get more nervous about doing an accent than nudity. Does that still hold up?

Totally, you can do sit-ups to prep for the nudity. There aren’t a lot of vocal sit-ups that you can do. Maybe because I have more experience being naked in my life than pretending to be British. I got more comfortable with the nudity than I did with the accent.

Did you stay in accent after you would film?

Yes I did. I used British-isms, stayed in the accent. I was a little disappointed, I had hoped that I would start dreaming in the accent or one day I would wake up and just be in the accent and that never happened but once I was in it, the America accent became the other and that became really hard to do so I just ended up staying in it all the time.

The pacing of this is so unique for a romantic film, which I think is refreshing to see. Was that one of the things that initially drew you to it? It’s really different.

Yes, non-traditional rom-coms can be so much fun, but how many times can you watch people spill coffee on each other and then three and a half weeks later they’re soul mates and they want to be together forever and it’s the end of the movie and somebody’s run across a field or had to run through a marching band or something.

They can be so much fun to watch but they stretch the limits of credibility. This was a chance to tell a real story about love but also had a lot of other aspects to it. It wasn’t just about the two people. They each came from people, it was about their families, it was about their friendships, it was about their experiences, it was about their own growth.

You talk about the challenges of accents, the challenges of nudity, how are you taking to action playing Catwoman?

Honestly, and I don’t mean to sound arrogant like a fish to water, I adore it. I absolutely love it because so much of what you do, it’s kind of the difference to me between cooking and baking because when you’re cooking and accent is more like, when you’re cooking and you’re like how does this taste, you have to get a feel of it a little bit more.

Baking is just like you put a cup of flour in there and everything is going to be ok. You need a half a cup of sugar and if you measure it correctly and you make it with love, it’s going to be delicious. That’s what I love about action, I think there’s noticeable results. Put your fist here, put your leg there, do this many sit-ups and you’ll be able to get your leg higher and I’m probably having such a nice time with it because my stunt team is off the hook amazing. My stunt double is the coolest, toughest, sweetest, woman I have ever met.
