BET released the nominations for the 2011 Hip-Hop Awards, and to everyone’s surprise, Lil Wayne is nominated for an astounding 18 awards. Yes, 18 awards.

Since being released from prison, Lil Wayne has been super busy collaborating with other artists as well as finishing up Tha Carter IV, which broke iTunes download record earlier this week.

Lil Wayne has been nominated in categories such as “MVP Of The Year,” “Best Lyricist,” and “Best Live Performer.”
Ironically, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa are tied with nine nominations a piece. Rick Ross scored eight nominations, while Chris Brown scored six.
This should definitely be an interesting BET Hip-Hop Awards this year for sure.
