Fashion’s Night Out 2011 in Soho, NYC was a treat for all the senses: tons of interesting finger foods to much on, tons of alcoholic and natural beverages to sip, ditto music and clothes.

Folks were dressed to impress, as well as depress, last night. You could tell who was what by their body language, by their attitude and by what they wore. I saw it all on a park bench in Soho and while roaming through a mob of Kim Kardashian fans.

What I loved about the night was the mixture of ages looking sharp and the daring undertaking of personal style.

Turn a corner and you’d run into a pocket that contained hundreds of Black kids in primary colors and hairstyles. Enter a store and you saw their complete opposite, middle aged white people in all sorts of looks.

At one point I found myself on a lobster line with a concoction of people that would make MLK proud: Swedes gesticulating in frantic Swedish, Koreans holding Alexander Wang balloons, Black youths sagging; and the whole of humanity rushing an open bar in a store whose name I never bothered to write down.

Everyone has a great time!
