Serena Williams kicked a** during day 13 of the US Open. Our favorite female athlete was up against Carolina Wozniacki for a semi-final match during Day 13 of the US Open. The match took place at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens. The New York Times has the deets!

Shrugging off the effect of a bandaged right foot layered with adhesive, Serena Williams of the United States bounded into the U.S. Open women’s final with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, the world’s top ranked and top seeded player.

Seeded 28th due to an injury and illness that kept her from competing in last year’s championship, Serena Williams showed powerful ground strokes and serves, hitting 11 aces and 34 winners (to Wozniacki’s 5) in the 86-minute match.

Williams was watched from the players box by her older sister, Venus, who last won here in 2011, defeating her sister.

With Saturday’s victory, Williams reached her fifth U.S. Open final in eleven years.
