The Italian fashion week kicked off days after the fashion world was thrown into a panic in London.

Three days ago models were pulled from shows in London because Gucci demanded models fly to Italy for fittings for its show, leaving some designers stranded for London Fashion Week. A Gucci show can make a model’s career, so when the call came down, beauties fled to Milan in hopes they would walk in the show. Gucci’s maneuver has angered a few designers who worry that Milan & New York are edging out London.
