She’s an heiress, muse, fashion sensation, socialite and she might have an eating problem. That is if we are to believe reports on the habits and sayings of Daphne Guinness

The social butterfly and fashion staple, whose collection of clothes is now on view in an exhibition at the Fashion Institute of Technology (through January) has no problem feeling uncomfortable in order to look good.

While shooting an editorial for German Vogue, a stylist place an enormous metallic collar around her neck and apologized for any discomfort. “Are you kidding?” Daphne replied. “Uncomfortable is the name of the game.”

Later, Teresa Alfonso, Guinness’s personal assistant tried to get her to eat some of the pasta that had been prepared for the production team. “If I eat, I can’t work,” Guinness who had been subsisting on Red Bull and Ensure, said. “I’ll eat when I’m dead.”

Daphne apparently, is writing an autobiography and excerpts were published in this week’s New Yorker. She told the magazine she has over 2,500 pieces of clothing in her collection and has about 450 pairs of shoes, all or nearly all made by sought after designers.

We’re sure Daphne is just really into her job, and is speaking metaphorically when she made comments about eating when she’s dead. No one is that clueless about eating disorders and fashion, especially someone with a high profile as hers. Then again, you never know.
