Cooper Stone, the six-year-old whose father Shannon Stone died trying to catch him a foul ball earlier this year, threw the first pitch during last night’s Texas/Tampa Bay game. The NY Daily News reports,

ARLINGTON – Cooper Stone threw out the ceremonial first pitch Friday before Game 1 of the AL division series between the Texas and Tampa Bay. It was his first trip to Rangers Ballpark since July 7, when he saw his father fall to his death trying to catch a ball thrown into the stands by Cooper’s favorite player, Josh Hamilton.

Fans stood and applauded for approximately two minutes after the 6-year-old was introduced. Hamilton caught his pitch and then embraced him and his mother, Jenny. The crowd was still on its feet when the two left the field.
