Tens of thousands of people have gathered on a beautiful fall day in our nation’s capital to witness the formal dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial that opened in August. USA Today is currently at the ceremony live blogging. They report,
“As tough as times will be, I know we will overcome. I know there are better days ahead. I know this because of the man who towers over us,” President Obama says.
President Obama appears to choke up for a moment as he delivers the final words of his speech: “With our eyes on the horizon and our faith squarely placed in one another, let us keep striving, let us keep struggling, let us keep climbing toward the promised land of a nation and a world that is more just and more equal for every child of God.”
