The condition she’s suffering from, a vocal hemorrhage, generally doesn’t require the extensive break Adele is taking, according to several top throat surgeons. But because Adele has suffered repeat injuries, she could need the kind of throat surgery Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler underwent in 2006. He was singing again within five months.
Adele has been breaking records and setting new ones with her album 21, which went four times platinum with over 4 million copies sold.

Adele, who is a self-proclaimed cigarette smoker, has been suffering from a vocal cord hemorrhage over the past year. She’s been forced to cancel two U.S. tours and a slew of shows due to her throat problem.
