It’s all good to have fun on Halloween, but this time the Loudoun County Republican Committee (LCRC) took it too far. The (LCRC) e-mailed a picture depicting a zombified President Obama with a bullet hole in his head.

They sent out the invitation today inviting one and all to bring “clear thinking conservative principles and a truckload of Republican candy” to tonight’s Halloween parade in Leesburg.

The LCRC promoted the event as “fun and great way to represent our candidates” before next week’s legislative elections, the thing is Democrats are upset that the image of the President with a hole in his head goes over the line.

Virginia Democratic Party spokesman Brian Coy said that:

“This is a disgusting and violent portrayal of the President of the United States. Party leaders including Pat Mullins, Bob McDonnell, Ken Cuccinelli and Bill Bolling should condemn it, and the local Republican officials should apologize, if not be removed from their posts.”

Pat Mullins, chairman of the state party, did in fact apologize for the insensitive email saying:

“The disgusting image used today on a mass e-mail has no place in our politics. Ever. The Republican Party of Virginia condemns the image and its use in the strongest possible terms.”

The West Wing report tweeted that the Secret Service is aware of a Halloween e-mail depicting the President with a bullet hole in his head. This was a joke that definitely crossed the line.
