We love a good remix and this Thursday, Brooklyn, NY artist Derrick Adams will be putting out a great one.

Derrick will preview the new remix version of his work Go Stand Next to the Mountain, a collaboration with composer Philippe Treuille, originally performed at The Kitchen, NYC in 2010 and which will soon be produced as a limited-edition vinyl album collectable.

STORY: Derrick Adams At Chelsea Art Museum Book Launch

Adams’ work explores the shape-shifting force of popular culture in our lives and how the fantastical and the mundane mingle.

Adams is an alumnus of The Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, The Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program and received his BFA from Pratt Institute and his MFA from Columbia University. His exhibition highlights include: PS1/MoMA Greater New York 2005, Performa 05, Brooklyn Museum Open House, and is the recipient of a 2009 Louis Comfort Tiffany Award.

And he puts on a great show, to boot.

French-American Philippe Treuille is a graduate of Julliard and Northwestern and has composed music in collaboration with artists and musicians from around the world. He composes his own original music, which is performed both acoustically and electronically, in the United States and abroad.

Also making an encore appearance from the original Go Stand Next to the Mountain will be Momar Clemons (Mopeshi), Ramon Silva (Ramon Rendezvous) and Omar Davis (Crash Planet) of ART FOR MONEY records, performing their contribution to the project with a remix of their track “Do You Wanna Go,” as well others.
