According to police officials, Iketubosin raped an 18-year-old woman from Massachusetts, who took him up on his offer to let her stay in his tent on Saturday while he attended to kitchen detail.

While she was sleeping, Iketubosin entered and started removing her pants. She awoke, told him to stop and when he refused, he raped her.

Iketubosin is also being connected to a second sexual assault involving a 17-year-old girl after helping her set up a tent on October 24th.

Iketubosin had been working at the protester’s kitchen and sleeping in the park for more than a week. When rumors began to swirl about sexual assaults, Iketubosin was asked to stop working at the kitchen, but he kept showing up, leading to a group of protestors physically removing him from the park.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke on the sexual assault at Zuccotti Park telling the New York Post:

“There have been reports…that when people in Zuccotti Park become aware of crimes, instead of calling the police, they form a circle around the perpetrator, chastise him or her and chase him or her out into the rest of the city to do who knows what to who knows whom.

If this is in fact happening … it is despicable and I think it is outrageous and it really allows the criminal to strike again, making all of us less safe.”

Iketubosin has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse.
