Like many sports fans, we want to cry ourselves to sleep every night because there’s no NBA to watch.

The World Series is over, football is only on Sundays and Mondays and let’s face it, people aren’t watching NHL unless you are a diehard fan.

We need the NBA in our lives. The NBA lockout began July 1st and after four months, the owners and players still can’t figure out a way to split the leagues’ revenue. And what a revenue it is! The NBA, when in session, is a free flowing money stream, TV and merchandise alone is upwards of $100 million.

So who’s hurting now that there’s no basketball? Kris Humphries for one, but that reason has nothing to do with the NBA. How about the rookies who haven’t even had a chance to make their first jump shot, or how about the players that make the league minimum?

And let’s not forget the fans, they’re losing out every night they’re forced to watch classic NBA games, which aren’t bad, but we want the current thing.

So just how much is the league losing with over 30 games already canceled? Take a look at the mathematical actual factuals of the NBA and their money.

More Money, More Problems!

This is a problem: with each canceled game, some teams are losing an estimated $2 million dollars. The money adds up, from ticket sales, parking food and concession and sponsors.

No Ballin’ Means No Money!

In the first two weeks of the season, the combined salaries of all the NBA players are upwards of $200 million bucks. So it’s no wonder why Delonte West tried to apply for a job at Home Depot.

No Tickets!

Half a million dollars ($500,000) and maybe more is the amount of money teams are losing with each canceled game. And that’s just the minimum.

No More Ballin’!

The maximum amount of money each team is losing with every canceled game is upwards of $1.5 million. Which means players aren’t getting paid and people who work for the organizations aren’t getting paid, so no more parties and bullsh*t.

What About The Regular Players?

Andy Rautins only has one season under his belt as a New York Knick and he isn’t getting the big bucks like Carmelo and Amare, so he needs to play. As it turns out, the lockout has forced Rautins to move back in with his parents in Syracuse, New York.
