Jose Pimentel may have wanted to blow up NYC, but he thinks cops should just give him a ticket.

The 27-year-old man from Harlem, NY is accused of plotting to blow-up police and post offices in New York City, as well as U.S. troops returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan and doesn’t think it’s that serious.

STORY: OH NO! Jose Pimentel, Al-Qaeda Sympathizer, Tried to Blow Up NYPD Cops And Soldiers

Is he serious? Pimentel says he thought he would get a slap on the wrist for the crime and set free. The F.B.I., along with federal prosecutors, said that Pimentel’s radical pedigree and Internet rantings, led them to believe he was a big talker who couldn’t carry out his plans without help.

According to a source who told The New York Post yesterday, Pimentel said:

“Am I going to get a desk-appearance ticket? I’m not a terrorist.”

Pimentel has been described as an “al-Qaeda sympathizer,” and his mother, 57-year-old Carmen Rosa told the Post yesterday that:

“I want to apologize to the City of New York. I’ve been here since 1987, and I’m disappointed with what my son was doing. I love New York. I’m sorry for what my son did. I just want to say I love him. I didn’t raise him that way — he changed.”

Asked if her son deserved prison, Rosa said:

“He did something. I believe in justice, so justice has to do what it has to do. Whether it’s my son or someone else’s son, everybody has to pay. That’s justice.”

Pimentel will certainly get more than a ticket, he plotted to cause mass destruction. More than likely he’ll be spending the rest of his life behind bars.
