At a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire, President Barack Obama was met by protesters involved with the Occupy Wall Street movement, who chanted at him moments before his speech.

STORY: It’s About Time! Obama Comes Out And Shows Solidarity To Occupy Wall Street

According to ABC News, many of the protesters handed out flyers reading the statement they were supposed to chant at the President:

“Over 4000 peaceful protesters have been arrested. While bankers continue to destroy the American economy. You must stop the assault on our 1st amendment rights. Your silence sends a message that police brutality is acceptable. Banks got bailed out. We got sold out.”

However before they could get it all out the crowd turned on them, booing and eventually drowning them out with “Obama!” chants.

Obama addressed the protesters telling them:

“Young people like the ones here today, including the ones who were just chanting at me – you’re the reason that I ran for office in the first place.”

Obama has long supported the movement saying only a month ago that-

“I understand the frustrations being expressed in those protests andIn some ways, they’re not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party.  Both on the left and the right, I think people feel separated from their government. They feel that their institutions aren’t looking out for them,”

Obama was in town pushing his jobs bill, telling the audience:

“If we don’t act, taxes will go up for every single American, starting next year. And I’m not about to let that happen.”

The OWS protesters were not removed by security, the President asked them to stay and they did. It surely was a sight to see – watch as the President gets mic checked by OWS!
