Dr. Conrad Murray has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. The judge said during the sentencing that Murray had a “horrific violation of trust” while caring for Jackson.

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the case of pop legend Michael Jackson’s death last month and today was his sentencing date.

Murray’s sentencing will likely be cut in half if he behaves while incarcerated. The 58-year-old cardiologist has been in jail since Nov. 7, when a jury convicted him of involuntary manslaughter for giving MJ harmful drugs such as propofol.

Murray was facing a maximum of 4 years in jail, but it’s likely that Murray will not spend a single day in federal prison because of a new California law, which requires non-violent felons to serve their time in county jail.
