This year has undoubtedly been a great one for music, and with the last month of 2011 coming to a close, it is safe to say that this was the year of Adele. But this may be the last year we hear anything for Adele for at least 3 more years!

The chart-topping singer has announced that following a voice-threatening throat surgery, she will not be dropping another album anytime soon. In a recent interview, Adele admitted that she has not been writing any new songs and will not drop any new music until it is good enough.

“I’m really looking forward to some time to do nothing. I imagine I’ll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven’t even thought about my third record yet. I’m just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just “be” for a bit. I’ll disappear and come back with a record when it’s good enough. There will be no new music until it’s good enough and until I’m ready.”
Adele is known for writing songs reflective of her own heartbreak, so maybe the songstress is off in search of a prince not-so-charming to serve as her musical muse.
We wish Adele nothing but peace and serenity in her time off and we are sure her faithful fans will be awaiting her return.
