GlobalGrind is proud to announce that Russell Simmons will be joining the ranks of PETA’s esteemed Person of The Year. Russell has been named PETA’s Person of The Year for 2011.
Uncle Rush joins Oprah, Ellen Degeneres and Former President Clinton on the list of those who have been bestowed with the award in the past.
Russell has been a devoted vegan, committing to only eating plant based products for at least 10 years. In addition to this newest PETA honor, Russell is also included in PETA’s limited-edition sheet of U.S. postage PhotoStamps featuring vegetarians throughout history.
According to PETA, Uncle Rush graciously accepted his award, saying:
“The horrible abuse of animals is the worst karmic disaster in the history of human kind. The work that PETA does to combat this catastrophe is amazing. I’m truly humbled to be chosen as this year’s Person of the Year, but the praise should go to the hundreds of thousands of volunteers that are on the ground doing the work. I accept this honor on their behalf.”
The GlobalGrind crew proudly congratulates Russell on his esteemed honor and diligent work.
