Texas A&M University offensive lineman, 22-year-old Joseph Villavisencio, died in a car accident Thursday.

STORY: HE HAS A NAME: Brooklyn Cafe Owner Josh Ruben Found Dead

According to the Associated Press, Joseph swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting a buzzard and smashed head on into an 18 wheeler. Joseph was on his way to his hometown in Jacksonville, Florida.

He had just finished coming from an event in which the team delivered gifts to families of a local shelter. Early during his day he had also completed his last practice with teammates in preparation for the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Coaches on the football team described him as someone who would “do anything for anyone.” Texas A&M University’s atheletic director Bill Byrne said he “epitomized selfless service to helping the Aggies improve as a team.”

It’s really sad to see someone who put so much into their community go away. Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Joseph.
