R&B singer Lloyd has been killing the game for years now, and he’s back to set the record straight.

After dropping his album King Of Hearts this summer, Lloyd has been on a mission to steal the hearts of all his lady fans on Lil Wayne’s “I Am Still Music” Tour.

Now, he’s busy creating his Christmas list and checking it twice, because all Lloyd wants for Christmas is a nice woman to keep him warm.

GlobalGrind caught up with Lloyd to chit-chat about his Christmas banger “She’s All I Want For Christmas,” everything he loves about Christmas, and of course, his New Year’s Resolutions.

Check out the exclusive interview below!

GlobalGrind: How are you?

Lloyd: How’s your holiday?

Good, how was your holiday?

Man, man, the craziest holiday ever, man. I ain’t get no sleep.

You ain’t get no sleep?

I ain’t get no sleep. They ain’t let me sleep.

We premièred your song  “She’s All I Want For Christmas” on our site. And  the fans loved it, but it was mad cheery and holiday spirity and, you know, it had this good, warm holiday feeling.

That’s why I got love for y’all because y’all still know good music when y’all see it, man.

So what made you want to do that song? It’s fun it reminds me of a Motown kind of Christmas.

I guess I have been stick in the 60s lately. I think that it really has a lot to do with all the music that I grew up listening to as a kid growing up, from, shit, James Brown Christmas to Stevie Wonder Christmas to Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 Christmas, Boys II Men Christmas, the Levert Christmas, um, who I’m missing? I’m missing somebody, dammit — oh, my boy Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Christmas.  And I grew up listening to all these people sing songs that really gave me a really good feeling every time I heard him. You know it make you feel real warm and joyful. And so I wanted to interpret that feeling in something original and hopefully give the people of my generation that same feeling that I got, but their own. I feel like it hasn’t really been anything original for a while, especially from anybody young or male or black and so I just wanted to touch on that.

Well, mission accomplished.Thanks. We just performed on BET’s Christmas special the other day. I didn’t get a chance to see it because I was in Holland but my phone just started blowing up after.

What is the nicest gift you ever gotten from a girl for Christmas?

Well, once in the fourth grade this girl named Ashley Simpson lived in my neighborhood and we hung out probably everyday through the summer. We’re swimming everyday, went to her house, played the Monopoly and Guess Who and her momma was real cool so she actually would let me in her house and we could hang out in her room and it was kind of crazy. But it wasn’t no crazy bad shit going on. OK, listen, so we hang out all the time, we was good friends and one time during the holiday she made me a, you know, one of those trinkets, where you can open it and it’s a picture of you, and it’s a picture of her on each side, kind of like a heart, how you open it up. Yeah, she got me something like that. Like a picture frame, and I thought that was real thoughtful. It was real sweet.

And that’s the nicest gift you’ve ever received, in the fourth grade?

Well, it was nice because we didn’t have any money. It was very, very just creative and thoughtful. To be so young, man — kids have a million and one things on their mind, man.  So for her to have time enough for me, I thought that was cool.

What’s your favorite part of Christmas?

The smell of the pine. I always get real trees. I never ever got a fake tree in my life. The real pine, it smells like — I would imagine that’s what the damn North Pole smells like or something, man. It just smells very festive. I found out about it at a tree farm that I went to the other day when I filmed the video for “She’s All I Want For Christmas.” And they actually grow pine trees on the farm year round. And he had these snow-coated trees, like they were so fly. I got them in the video so you’ll be able to see what they look like.

So when will the video drop?

I don’t know. I’d imagine that they’re at the final editing process, you know, the last stages of editing. So, probably in a week.

How old were you when you found out Santa wasn’t real?

Shit, I still believe he’s real, so I don’t even know what the hell you’re talking about right now. I’m getting off the phone with you. [laughs]

Why?

Because you’re trying to kill my Christmas, man, with this grown-up bullsh*t. I still believe in Santa. The hell you talking about? [laughs]

So are we going to get like a little EP, a Christmas EP? Or are just going to get “She’s All I Want For Christmas?”

Is there some more?

Yeah, is there going to be some more Lloyd Christmas songs?

There’s one more song. I guess the name of it would be “This Christmas Is You and Me,” something along the lines of that. I don’t really know if they released it yet. I don’t know if it’s out. It might be online. You might go online and hear it.

Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?

New Years resolution?

Yeah.

Um, I just been blessed with so much that I want to really take more time to give back a little more this year.  Last year I gave my hair to charity and stuff and all of that was fine, but this year I’m really looking forward to just giving back.
