Defending NBA champions the Dallas Mavericks are set to visit the White House today, but they’ll be one player short – point guard Delonte West is banned from meeting President Barack Obama!

STORY: Say What? NBA Baller Delonte West Gets Job At Local Furniture Store!

As it turns out, West has had a high profile arrest over the last two years – one for being under the influence of prescribed medication – and is “banned” from stepping foot in the White House after the President’s security team ran a routine background check on the guard.

The D.C. native spoke about his ban saying:

“I’m banned from going to the White House, so I’m not going to make it. But I’m going home to D.C., I’m just not allowed to go to the White House. That’s what happens when you make bad decisions in your life. You can’t go to the White House.”

West continued:

“I’ve been there 100 times in my lifetime. I live right around the corner. I live in D.C. It’s going to be ashamed the President isn’t going to get a chance to meet me. I’m the president of my house.”

Looks like the Mavericks will be without West as they meet President Obama. As for West, better luck next time.
